Vodka
Introduction to Vodka
According to the TTB or Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Vodka is defined as:
Spirits distilled from any material at or above 95% alcohol by volume (190 proof), and if bottled, bottled at not less than 40% alcohol by volume. Neutral spirits distilled or treated after distillation with charcoal or other materials so as to be without distinctive character, aroma, taste or color. 1
Flavored vodka falls into its own category, allowing for the addition of flavoring and sometimes sugar.
What is Vodka Made From?
Vodka can be made from practically anything that can be distilled, the most common sources being grains, fruits, and potatoes.
Our vodkas showcase the diversity of these spirit bases:
Bistro is distilled top-quality French wheat.
Qino One Raspberry from quinoa flavored with distilled raspberries.
Vodka in Cocktails
Due to its neutral flavor, vodka is an essential base in many cocktails, helping to add balance to the base without affecting the flavor of other ingredients. Classic vodka cocktails include the Martini (and its many variations including the Espresso Martini and the Appletini), Lemon Drop, Bloody Mary, White Russian, Moscow Mule, Screwdriver, Vodka Cranberry, Cosmopolitans, and many, many more.
